Ecological Sanitation, or Eco-San, is founded on the idea that urine, faeces and water are resources in an ecological loop. It is an approach that turns human waste into a resource that protects public health, prevents pollution and at the same time returns valuable nutrients and humus to the soil. This recycling of nutrients helps to ensure food and nutrition security, improve quality of life and and protect the environment.
ABOUT THE 5 DAY, 40 HOUR COURSE
For this course, NGP has teamed up with local eco-san practitioner Lieza Dupreez to provide participants with the theory behind ecological sanitation as well as engage in the building of different types of appropriate models.
