Over the past month the Kusamala family has grown to include two new members. Alinafe Chimongo joins us as Project Manager for our new Climate Cmart Agriculture project and Ephraim Chiunjiza Jr joins the office team as our new Accountant/Administrator. Both of these positions are new to Kusamala and we are excited to see how Alinafe and Ephraim will make them their own.

IMG_0154Alinafe will be running Kusamala’s new Dowa office and will have charge of implementing the Climate Smart Agriculture project activities in Dowa District. He will be supporting our field staff of ten community coordinators, many of which will be new to Kusamala, and liaising with relevant stakeholders in government, civil society, and the communities. Alinafe comes to us with a solid understanding of Dowa district as well as project management experience. Prior to joining Kusamala, he spent over ten years as the Food Security Coordinator at World Vision in Dowa and also worked as a government Agriculture Development Extension Officer. Alinafe has dual diplomas in Rural and Community Development and Agricultural Science.

IMG_0160Ephraim Chiunjiza will be working closely with our Executive Director and our management team to manage Kusamala’s finances, administration, and accounting systems. He will oversee our budgeting processes and help to continue and strengthen our financial reporting procedures. Ephraim has held similar positions at Joy to the World International and Farmers Forum for Trade and Social Justice, where he served as the Finance & Administration Officer. In addition to these duties, he will be managing our DanChurchAid partnership project, leading the team in market research and carbon finance mechanisms. Ephraim holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Management Accounting.

We are very excited to welcome these new faces to our growing team!
