We are really pleased to offer our second Thatching Course: Module One, scheduled to begin on October 25th!  Thatched roofs are beautiful, long-lasting (average 20 – 25 years!), and eco- friendly. They moderate temperatures to provide comfortable and cool environments in the hot season, and a quiet atmosphere in even the hardest rains. Additionally, using thatch supports the production of Malawian building materials and other local economies.

ABOUT THE COURSE STRUCTURE

THEORY, DEMONSTRATION & PRACTICE

This course is designed for beginner thatchers with or without experience. A theoretical base is built from class work as well as showing of various existing structures and thatches on the property. There is a strong emphasis on hands-on practicals that will enable participants to return to their place of work and implement the principles and techniques learnt.
